Nice laid back place. It's literally a barge on the river. Great views. Limited but delicious menu. And they have cold beer, and tunes. It is cash only, they have an ATM.
Loved the food, but the service was more than lacking. We got a table right away inside, but were not greeted for over 20 minutes, 35 minutes to have our order taken only after we got up to leave, and food took 30 minutes more. Tension with the unhappy staff was unfortunate due to management from firsthand, birds eye view which was unfortunate due to the excellent food. Refills nor follow up service to check on us, how we liked the food, etc. was provided. I had to ask for the check which took an additional 10 minutes. Perfect place if you have the time to spare. Cleanliness was disconcerting as well. We have not been back due to experience. Ate the years ago and experience was much better.
Awesome food..we're so busy labor day girls did great job getting everything together and the Cooks in back great 5 stars all the way.. plus dock that boat at a dollar a foot over night. Free docking for boat to eat great love it
Took the boat ride from Louisville up to Madison. It was a nice 1 hour 40 minute ride. I had never been to the Lighthouse so I had really no expectation. We arrived and were sat at an outdoor table which was fine. The waitress was fantastic, she engaged us in conversation, explained the menu items and was generally informative and pleasant. I got the fish sandwich (of course) which was great. The entire journey was fantastic and we will return next season.
Initially I was concerned about entering the restaurant because the outward appearance was a little rough but I'm happy I did. The service was very down to earth and friendly from the start. The tenderloin was a large serving for a fair price. I rate the experience a 10/10 for good quality food, pretty view on the water, and easy going staff that was also attentive.
