The bed is sooo comfy that you'll want breakfast in bed! The pillows are feather and mattress is memory foam. I had the pleasure of listening to an early morning storm that rained down on the tin roof and brought back memories of visiting my grandparents.
It was a warm weekend, but the A/C kept it crisp and comfortable all day and night.
For a quiet cabin in the woods it is peaceful and very relaxing
The location seems to be secluded and off the beaten path, but it's only 5 mins from downtown Madison. Which, with the total revamp of downtown, is such a plus when choosing where to go for dinner or drink. There are a variety places to choose from. Or, pick up something and bring it back to a new fully stocked kitchen for a quiet couple's time away prying eyes.
The room I had was very nicely decorated with a leather couch and high top table for dining. The walls adorned with matted hunting prints and a beautiful antique clock that must have been from a hunting lodge.
I opened a bottle of wine and to advantage of the tranquility on the porch around sunset. The thrill of seeing 2 does and 3 fawns walk thru the yard was as overwhelming as watching the lightning bugs light up the woods.
A hidden gem 3 miles from downtown Madison surrounded by a field and trees, perfect! We stayed in the suite. It was a pleasant surprise when we opened the door to a tastefully decorated, modern 3 room suite at a cost less than hotels. It was CLEAN, comfy, and we immediately felt at home. I walked around the grounds which were meticulously kept. A unique rock garden with stone arches was fun to look at. The rental cabin was down the hill and secluded, also very clean and decorated with antiques plus a surprise: a baby grand piano! Lovely setting for either a romantic getaway or a friends and family gathering. Nancy and Jim were also kind enough to shuttle us to and from the Ribberfest so we didnt have to mess with parking. I plan to stay there again and highly recommend Dugan Hollow Log Cabin and Suites as a great place to stay. Weekends fill fast. We just lucked out someone cancelled last minute. Nancy said weekdays are easier to book. If you are looking for a quiet, reasonably priced place, check them out.
It was a great get away from all the normal kaos of life.
This was my second stay and I didn't think Nancy could improve on perfection, but she did!
I plan on returning when I visit family again, I only hope there are dates available.

We had an amazing time at Dugan Hollow! The cabin we stayed in is beautiful, and made us feel like we were in the middle of the woods (while still being a 5 minute drive from historic downtown Madison)! Nancy and Jim were wonderful hosts, accommodating our late check in and even lent us their personal kayaks. Can't wait to go back!
