After knowing dozens of people who have had friends or loved ones killed by negligent practices (and awarded civil suits) at the old location, the "new and improved" hilltop hospital is just as bad as before. I would recommend the drive to Louisville or Cincinnati if you possibly can. Heck, there are probably veterinary clinics that would treat you better here in town.
This place was taking care of my fiance after she had surgery. And they was disclosing her information to the police station and parole office which is against patient confidentiality agreement. the social worker that has a bunch of tattoos is a snitch!! Be aware!!
I also want to put, that while he did try to help me, one of the ER doctors I personally had to see one day was in and out of the room in 2 minutes, and I was discharged within the next 3. I had fricken Mrsa, and two large cysts that were causing me terrible pain, and they didn't want to give me much of anything to help. I ended up going to an Urgent Care and they did a hell of a lot more than this hospital did. (Lanced/drained and area causing the pain to go away. I was able to continue on with day to day activities where before it hurt to even put my arm to my side)
Came with my wife during the day on 06/29/17 for an ultrasound, and received the worst possible service and most apathetic care possible from the staff. The furniture in the waiting area was clearly filthy and flecked with bed bug feces. The receptionist was unable to spell a simple last name, even though she had it spelled for her about 7 times. I was also told I couldn't be in the room for an ultrasound... AN ULTRASOUND. It's not like it's a sensitive or hazardous procedure.
Poor service and way over priced. You go to the hospital for help and you get a rent-a-Dr. that you get billed for that you never see. You have to pay the over price fee to KDH and the a fee for a Dr. you never talk to. This place is an over priced band-aid station. Will be going to La grange or UofL from now on. If I wanted Jefferson Lake Physician I would have went there for treatment. Sad you can't employee your own staff.
I do not look forward to going to any hospital but I have had to be a patient at K D H twice and this facility is a community asset. The care is personable, professional, and quality. Thank you Madison for the foresight in making a facility like K D H available to the community.
Absolutely terrible experience there on 6/7/17. Took significant other to emergency room due to possible neurological issues. They obviously didn't care about helping him even though he was was freaking out about the whole situation. I understand they couldn't give him medication till after the tests, but they still wouldn't give him anything to help him calm down. Doctor just didn't seem to care about what was really happening and just did the bare minimum. The nursing staff was very unprofessional. He had a slight accident and they got pissed because the room needed cleaned, because the nurse didn't do her job and come help him. They just discharged him and kept telling him to go to his family doctor. If you want proper care from individuals who want to get you better, go somewhere else. Only good experience I've ever had was with my old OB Dr. Rooney, and Dr. Lair,otherwise, the doctors are pushy and don't care about your overall well being-or so it seems, and some are liars.
