Wonderful staff and cutest dogs and cats we got a puppy from them
Way over populated too bad its a kill shelter.More funds desperately needed there.
Great place to adopt a cat or dog. But they are over filled all the time. They are not friendly when you inquire about dropping off animals. It's a needed service, but it's obviously under funded.
There is a beautiful brown and white pit bull mix 1-3 years old at Madison, IN Jefferson County Animal Shelter. She has the most gorgeous light blue eyes I've ever seen! This place really seems to care about the animals there and I love that. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I think their hours of operation should be widened. They're only open about 4-7 hours per day and that's normally during regular work hours for most people so how are they supposed to come adopt a new family member if they don't open until most people are already at work and are closed long before most people get off. Plus, the animals need more human interaction than just a few hours per day. Other than that, great place!
It is a kill shelter but they partner with humane society's and they only euthinize animals that are not fit for homes .
